Watch Collectors Club ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected through our mobile app (iOS & Android) and this website, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Information We Collect
Information you provide voluntarily:
- Watch details you enter for valuation (brand, model, reference number, year, condition) — stored locally on your device only, not transmitted to our servers.
- Photos you choose to upload to the community gallery (uploaded to Flickr on your behalf — see Third-Party Services below).
Information collected automatically:
- Watch valuation queries are sent to eBay's public search API to retrieve market price data. These queries contain watch details only — no personal identifiers are included.
- When browsing the community gallery, photo data is fetched from Flickr's API. No personal data is shared with Flickr during this process.
- Standard device diagnostics (crash reports, performance data) may be collected by Apple/Google through their standard app frameworks.
We do NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, or account credentials (no account registration required).
- Location data or GPS coordinates.
- Payment information.
- Device identifiers for advertising purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- Watch valuations: Your watch details are used solely to query eBay's API and return a market price estimate to you. Not stored on our servers.
- Community gallery: Photos you upload are posted to the Watch Collectors Club Flickr group pool.
- App improvement: Aggregated, anonymised crash and performance data helps us improve app stability.
Local Data Storage
Your valuation history and collection notes are stored exclusively on your device using local storage. This data is not uploaded to any server, is not accessible to us, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Third-Party Services
eBay API: Valuation lookups use eBay's Browse API to retrieve public sold listing data. eBay's privacy policy applies: ebay.com/help/policies.
Flickr API: Community gallery photos are served through Flickr's API. Flickr's privacy policy applies: flickr.com/help/privacy.
Apple & Google: The app is distributed through the App Store and Google Play. Their respective privacy policies govern their platforms.
Google Fonts: This website loads the Inter font from Google Fonts. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
Our app and website are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data Retention
Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to retain or delete. Collection data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.
Security
All communication between the app and third-party APIs uses HTTPS encryption. Your collection data stored locally is protected by your device's own security settings.
Your Rights
Since we do not maintain a database of your personal information, there is no profile for us to access, correct, or delete. For data held by third-party services (Flickr, eBay), please refer to their respective privacy policies.
